Ensemble Unterwegs Embarks on a Sonic Journey through Arnsberg

Get ready for an unforgettable musical experience as the Ensemble Unterwegs embarks on their 2025 tour, taking classical music to the streets of Arnsberg, Germany. The tour kicks off on August 19th and concludes on the 24th, offering a unique blend of soprano voice and string trio that promises to redefine your auditory landscape.

The journey begins at Wildwald Vosswinkel, with an opening concert scheduled for 3:30 PM on the 19th. This concert is included in the Wildwald entrance fee, making it an accessible treat for all. The ensemble's mission is to open up classical music to a new audience and to liberate concerts from rigid structures, making the art form more approachable and enjoyable.

On the 20th, the ensemble will make a stop at Kloster Oelinghausen, continuing their musical encounters that have significantly influenced their approach to the audience and shaped the conversational concerts. These intimate performances aim to bring the music directly and spontaneously to the people, fostering a deep connection between the musicians and the audience.

The tour includes both planned and spontaneous performances throughout the city, with the final concert taking place in the Auferstehungskirche on Neumarkt on Sunday, August 24th, at 5:00 PM. Admission and seating for this concert are free, but the number of seats is limited, so it's advisable to arrive early.

Over the years, the Ensemble Unterwegs has evolved into a long-term, intensive collaboration, a unique ensemble that holds dear German folk songs. These traditional regional dialect songs, which have inspired many renowned composers, are at the heart of the ensemble's repertoire. Alongside well-known art songs, the ensemble also performs lesser-known pieces from obscure or rarely performed repertoire, offering a diverse and captivating musical experience.

The ensemble consists of four professional musicians: a violinist, a violist, a cellist, and a soprano. They carry their instruments with them and search for encounters, exchanging their music for food and lodging as they hike through Arnsberg.

But one thing is certain: this is an event not to be missed!
